Connecticut Reopens Student Loan Reimbursement Program (Up to $20,000 Available!)

Starting this Friday, thousands of Connecticut residents with student debt can apply for the revamped Student Loan Reimbursement Program, offering up to $20,000 over four years.

The program, run by the Connecticut Office of Higher Education, is designed to ease student debt and keep talent in the state.
 

How Much Can You Get?

• Up to $5,000 per year

• Total maximum: $20,000 over 4 years

• Funds awarded first-come, first-served until the $8 million budget is gone

Who Qualifies?

You may be eligible if you:

1. Have lived in Connecticut for 5 consecutive years

2. Attended a Connecticut college or earned a professional license in the state

3. Completed 50+ hours of volunteer service

4. Meet expanded rules (including Stone Academy students who didn’t receive a refund or join the teach-out plan)

How to Apply

1. Mark your calendar: Applications open Friday

2. Apply online via the CT Scholars Portal

3. Prepare your documents:

   • Proof of CT residency

   • College diploma or license

   • Volunteer service record

   • Student loan statements
